Incorporated under the visionary leadership of Shri. Panayil V Gopinathan in 1965, Panayil’s early years were inspired by the spirit of nationalism. It pioneered several businesses of regional importance in India: Transport, Spices Trading, Forestry, Plantation, and Public Works Contracting. The Panayil group is currently chaired by Shri Panayil V Jayaraj & charitable activities are led by Mrs Shikky Jayaraj. Panayil V Jayaraj has been a registered civil works contractor based in Trivandrum since 1970s with an 'A' class license from the Government of Kerala. He has pioneered luxury villa projects in the state with sucessful completion of the first planned luxury residential buildings in capital city of Trivandrum under 'Pandits Colony' brand. The work was sucessfully handed over to the government housing department in 1984. He pioneered diversification in FMCG distribution, Fleet Transporation and General Trading (IT Components) during the early 90s. This period saw the entry of Panayil Group into GCC markets under his leadership.The family members are shareholders in the oldest pre independence public limited companies in India - THOMAS STEAPHEN AND CO. LTD. Incorporated in 1915, this company pioneered ceramic and tile manufacturing in India through its state of the art manufacturing facility in Quilon, Kerala.
In more recent times, the group's pioneering spirit has been reinvented by the 4rth generation entrepreneurs in the family led by the Aromal Jayaraj Shikky and Abbishek Jayaraj Shikky. The group activities are currently spread across USA, Europe, Middle East, Asia.
